Student Dropout

Our children in the elementary stage often escape from school, and as parents, we immediately resort to punishment without looking into the motive behind it. Therefore, knowing the causes is a vital matter.
Causes of Student Dropout in the Elementary Stage:
- Family Causes: This occurs through parents abandoning their obligations and responsibilities toward their children due to divorce, family separation, harsh treatment of children, or lack of parental awareness.
- Economic Causes: The family’s need to increase its current income leads to children entering the workforce at an early age and leaving school because the family cannot afford the expenses.
- Educational Causes: The mistreatment of students by some teachers and the use of physical or verbal punishment.
- Psychological Causes: Many students suffer from psychological problems that lead to dropping out, including the student’s inability to adapt to the new school environment and other psychological factors.
Regarding Female Dropouts: This is attributed to parents’ lack of awareness about the importance of their daughters completing the elementary stage, the family’s need for the girl to work at home, and the lack of social acceptance regarding the mixing of females and males.
