Causes of Conflict Between Siblings

When our children fight with one another, we often rush to discipline them without considering the underlying causes of their conflict. Some of these reasons include:
- Feeling Neglected: This drives the child to seek any means possible to grab their parents’ attention.
- Desire for Self-Assertion: The child’s need to prove their individuality and presence.
- Competition for Parental Love: Rivalry to win the affection and favor of the parents.
- Lack of Fairness: When parents fail to treat their children with equal justice and impartiality.
- Unexplained Punishment: Punishing a child without clarifying the reasons, which may drive them to take revenge on others.
- Emotional Deprivation: A lack of warmth and emotional connection within the home.
- Selfishness: In this case, the parents’ role is to refine the child’s character traits to align with moral and religious values.
