Causes of Persistent Marital Conflicts

Many married couples complain about the frequency of conflicts between them, and failing to understand the underlying causes only exacerbates the situation. Some of the reasons for these disputes include:
- Inability to Communicate and Lack of Harmony: This results from conflicting personalities and a lack of will from either side to make sound decisions or to bridge the gap with the partner.
- Stress and Tension: The pressure of stress makes it difficult to build a healthy relationship, as neither partner can think calmly, make correct decisions, or rectify mistakes. Consequently, they often treat each other with aggression and a lack of logic.
- Ambiguity and Lack of Openness: Failing to express thoughts and feelings clearly often leads to misunderstandings. It weakens each partner’s ability to listen or understand what the other wants. In this context, neither partner consults the other on life matters, which further widens the distance between them.
